Prof. dr. Alfred Ho’s teaching and research focus on public budgeting, performance management, citizen engagement, and e-government. He has also advised state and local officials in the U.S. and in other countries on their performance-oriented reforms. Before he joined KU, he taught at Iowa State University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). He received his Master of Public Affairs and Ph.D.from the School of Public & Environmental Affairs, Indiana University (Bloomington).
Prof. dr. ir. Gerda van Dijk is director of the Zijlstra Center for Public Control and Governance at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specialized in Organization, Strategy and Leadership Development. She is dedicated in supporting public and profit organizations and leaders in their development of leadership to create public value.
Ian Carruthers became Chair of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (IPSASB) in 2016, having been a Board Member since 2010. As a Board Member, he led IPSASB’s work on Long Term Financial Sustainability and alignment between IPSAS and Government Finance Statistics. After joining HM Treasury from PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999, Mr. Carruthers played a key role in the UK Government’s transition from cash to accrual budgeting and reporting, in particular leading its Whole of Government Accounts program.
Ewout Irrgang has been a member of the Netherlands Court of Audit’s Board since 1 September 2017. He studied economics and political science at the University of Amsterdam. He began his career as a policy officer for the Dutch Socialist Party. In 2005 he joined the Dutch central bank (DNB) as an economist and was elected to the House of Representatives (until 2012) for the Dutch Socialist Party in the same year. He started working for the PharmAccess Foundation shortly after becoming a member of parliament, first as Technical Director in Dar es Salaam and since 1 January 2017 as Advisory Services Director in Amsterdam.
Giuseppe Grossi is Professor in Public Management and Accounting at the School of Health and Society, Kristianstad University (Sweden) and Nord University in Bodø (Norway). His research focuses on public governance, performance budgeting and management, hybrid organizations, smart cities, and internationalization of public sector accounting. Grossi is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Public Budgeting and Financial Management (JPBAFM).
